Still delivering, if not on time, but inevitably… Same can’t be said for the character in this first poem, they have a lot of ideas, but can’t seem to commit the ink to the page. Also, look for the Nine In Nails Reference… just don’t come at me like a pretty hate machine.

The Unwritten Tales

By: Drew Swenson

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedA blank page

A story unwritten

Ideas swim within my mind,

It is not satisfaction,

But trouble I find.

Ideas can pique the interest

But dedication seems to be

Akin to Everest.

A tortured soul

As a head with a hole

Am I destined to be incomplete?

Will this enmity ever surcease?

With great age

A loss of mind unbidden

Emptiness

Utter Emptiness

For that which is unwritten

Ideas come and go much like the tides

in an ocean of white

my cognition, it hides.

I live for the future,

but it has already gone

My life is not yet complete

but I am dead anon.

For poem number 2… well this one is about me as a teacher, and one associated stereotype…

Irony for a Teacher

By: Drew Swenson

A classic conceit

But I'm unlike most teachers

They're one thing I don't entreat
