If you know me, I am not oft given to sentimentality. Today, I will, however, be dedicating this piece to my Brother and his Family as they embark on a new journey of Homeownership. Their story is just beginning, in a place with its own story to tell. Every place has a past, but it is up to (the proverbial) “You” to write its future. To quote famed scientist Emmett Lathrop Brown Ph.D. “It means your future hasn’t been written yet. No one’s has! Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!”
I wish them the best of luck and without further ado….
This Old House
By: Drew Swenson
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedThis old house has seen many things
if walls could talk what might they say
What hopes and dreams have come and gone
What joyous celebrations, and somber days
Tragedies, Triumphs
Toddlers, Teens
This old house has seen a lot
Past passes into history it seems
What really matters, is what happens next
Only you can create that mystery
For a house becomes a home
When you begin to dwell
The book is partly filled,
but a new chapter is yet for you to tell.
You bring your family, ready for a start
for this house is now your home, and in this home is your heart.
