Preface
Hello Everyone!
April is home to National Poem Writing Month! Much like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), NaPoWriMo encourages the writing of one poem a day, for a month! I’ll be doing my best to publish one poem a day this month as a part of the challenge.
Today’s Poem
In light of the recent events across the South and Midwest, I was inspired to write a piece on the power of Weather. Be Prepared, not Scared! Be mindful of your neighbors and community!
Natures Fury
By: Drew Swenson
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedNatures Fury, Loathed, Adored
Appreciated, and times Abhorred
Beauteous Skies like Heavn’s Host
Squalls that fly, and Lightning Boasts
Towers of White, others of grey
Nature cares not what’s in her way
The Power of the rushing winds
Safety often, it rescinds
Shelter, cover, must you seek
Mother Nature is not meek
Darkened skies portent the worst
Heed all warnings at their first
As sirens wail, and from skies fall hail
The Human spirit must prevail
For natures fury spreads damage wide
But the human spirit will not die
For those we’ve lost we send our prayers
To whose homes were lost, send care
For there is no true nature immunity
We must rally together as one community
